Array, 2024 Volunteer and Staff Code of Conduct

As a Nook Dance Centre volunteer or staff member working with children backstage I will…

  • Behave respectfully and courteously towards children and their families and towards other staff.

  • Use kind language and a supportive tone when speaking to children (no yelling or indecent language).

  • Only touch children if necessary (e.g. adjusting a costume item) and I will ask the child first before doing so.

  • Identify and mitigate any risks to children in my care (e.g. wipe up spilt water, pick up safety pins from the ground).

  • Call for Tammy, Bek or Lucinda immediately if first aid is required.

  • Ensure no child is ever left unsupervised - all children should stay with their class group unless they are with another staff member/volunteer.

  • Follow directions from Nook Dance Centre staff at all times.
