Tickets

Tickets will go on sale on Monday the 30th of October at 8.00AM.

We will have 2 rounds of ticket sales. In the first round, tickets are strictly capped at a maximum of 3 tickets per performer (you are of course welcome to book fewer than 3 if desired). More than one person can book tickets for a performer but the total number of tickets for that performer needs to be a maximum of 3. E.g. Grandma books 1 ticket to see Emily Jones and dad books 2 tickets to see Emily Jones.

We will be asking for the performer’s name when you book so that we can ensure that everyone is following this requirement. This cap is in place to ensure that no one misses out on tickets altogether.

You can save this link: https://www.trybooking.com/CMHLJ and at 8.00AM on Monday the 30th of October the event will change from ‘closed' to ‘open'. I will also re-send you that link when ticket sales have opened too.

On Friday the 3rd of November at 8.00AM the cap will be lifted and you will be welcome to buy any additional tickets if you would like to. There will be no more restrictions on the number of tickets you can purchase.

If you’re not able to get the number of tickets you wanted, please join the waitlist as I will be able to contact you if any extra tickets become available right up until the day of the show.

Ticket costs

Standard: $22.00 (incl GST)

Child/concession card holders: $16.00 (incl GST)

Babies/toddlers who can sit on an adult's lap during the show do not require a ticket.

On show day:

  • Please arrive at Dancehouse at the correct time (listed above).

  • Your child will be signed into the theatre by a Nook Dance Centre volunteer.

  • Your child will be accompanied upstairs to the upstairs studio where the dancers will wait for their turn to perform. There will be colouring in sheets, books, games etc to keep them entertained while waiting. Your child might like to bring a quiet activity like a game or a book too.

  • There will be a minimum of 4 adults supervising in the upstairs studio at all times and the dancers will be accompanied to and from the toilets (if needed) and to and from the stage when it’s their turn to perform.

  • At the conclusion of each show, the dancers will all sit on stage and be presented with their special Nook medals!

  • Students who are not finished performing for the day will then head back upstairs and prepare for the remaining shows.

  • Students who are being collected will retrieve their belongings and will be signed out to their parent/guardian before leaving the venue.

What to wear on show day:

The dancers should come to the theatre already wearing their costume with a zip-up or button up shirt or jacket over the top (this should be worn when eating in costume too). All dancers should wear slide on shoes to and from the theatre if possible. Ballet students should bring their Ballet shoes rather than wear their Ballet shoes to and from the theatre. Please ensure your child removes any jewellery including watches before leaving home.

Costumes

Costumes are currently being planned and ordered. We will be trying costumes on the kids at their classes over the next few weeks and will be handing costumes over to you when they are ready to go home. Costumes must not be worn at all prior to the performance on Sunday the 19th of November. After the shows are finished, the costume is your child’s to keep, you don’t need to return it to us. Please hang up your child’s costume when you receive it and ensure it stays neat and clean in the lead up to the show.

Hair

Ballet: All Ballet students with hair long enough to tie up should have either a ballet bun OR a single plait/braid for the performance.

Contemporary: All Contemporary Dance students with hair long enough to tie up should have their hair pulled back off their face. Any hair style is fine as long as their hair stays off their face during the performance.

Make-up

We don’t require any of our students to wear any make-up unless they would like to! If your child wears make-up for the show, please ensure they don’t get any marks/smudges on their costume!

What to bring on show day:

1 labeled bag containing:

  • A full, labeled water bottle

  • Quiet games or a book for down time.

  • Ballet shoes (Ballet students only)

  • Mess free snacks (for grades 2+ please pack LOTS of snacks to keep them going for the day!)

  • Medication (if applicable).

What NOT to bring on show day:

  • Valuable or sentimental items such as toys (things can get lost!).

  • Textas/markers (pencils only please)

  • Food that can spill e.g. soup, yoghurt etc
